Choosing Between Instant and Manual Quotes

Updated over a month ago

This article explains the two quoting methods available on the Geomiq platform -Instant Quoting and Manual Quotes and guides you on how to select the best option for your project.

Summary of the available options

You now have the flexibility to choose your quoting method for every project you create. You can use our powerful Instant Quoting engine for rapid, automated pricing, or you can request a Manual Quote to have our engineering team conduct a bespoke review for more complex needs.

Which Quoting Method Should I Choose?

Use an Instant Quote for:

  • Speed and Efficiency: Get automated pricing and DFM feedback in minutes.

  • On-Demand Production: Ideal for prototypes, small batches, and projects using standard materials and processes.

  • Rapid Turnarounds: Move from quote to production faster when lead time is critical.

Request a Manual Quote for:

  • High-Volume Production: Access cost-saving opportunities and dedicated supply chain solutions for large production runs.

  • Complex Requirements: Projects involving intricate assemblies, tight tolerances, or specialised finishing that require expert review.

  • Bespoke Materials: When your project requires materials or processes not listed in our Instant Quote engine.

  • Dedicated Engineering Support: Partner directly with our engineering team for DFM advice and project optimisation.

How to Request a Manual Quote

You can select your quoting method after creating a new project.

  1. Navigate to the Project pages and upload your CAD files as usual.

  2. At the top of the page, you will see a toggle for "Instant Quoting".

  3. The feature is enabled by default. To request a Manual Quote, simply switch the toggle off to turn it off. After a couple of seconds, you will see all of the Instant Quotes disappear until you re-enable the option.

  4. Add any relevant notes, drawings, or specific requirements in the project details section.

  5. Click "Get manual quotes".

What Happens Next?

After you submit a project for a Manual Quote, your request is sent directly to our engineering team. A member of the team will review your project requirements and contact you with a detailed quote or any clarifying questions, typically within the same day.
